now ready for final MASTERING, as we are very anxious for Lee Jackson to put his signature
sound on it. The Album climaxes with its Opus suite: Ethan. We hope you enjoy it after all
this wait. Lee and I spend many LONG hours with Tommy Brothers of Audio Genesis, putting this album
together. Tommy is the greatest to work with and is an outstanding guitarist /musician in his own
right!

JANUARY
25, 2008 Hey just wanted to mention last nights gig at the Rusty
Nail! Taylor Lee was on Bass tonight, and Lee and I were on fire!
We started out the set with a Bb sorta vibe that went all
over the place. We went into Resolution, then Les Bres in Am (played in Bb),
to some Santana vibe, then Every Night is Ladies Night, and finally
Jean Pierre. Then we played: Dance of The Maya, Hope, Blue Tango, Lotus
Feet, Immigrant Song, Voices, Moments (on like 78 speed), Mistor
Hiddy (yep, really), and Red Baron! Lee did some really amazing solos tonight..
as usual! Vinnie and Roger as well as other "Antonians" were in the
crowd! Gil stopped in, as well as some Cape Fear Jazz Appreciation cats, Bill the
drummer and his friends! Shaun and Jaron from Organix were there as well as the Rusty
Nail regulars! We met some new friends as well! We are looking forward to
the gig on February 7th at the Rusty Nail when we will be opening for Painted Man! We look
forward to seeing you there!
JANUARY
10, 2008 Without Until played tonight at the Rusty Nail, wow,
what a show! We had a lots of our friends come out to see us! We had a blast! Tunes? We played: Red Baron, Stratus, Moments, Immigrant Song (dedicated to
Roger and Vinnie from Antonio's in the audience), Ethan, Blue Tango, some psychedelic Hendrix Jam that
extended the borders of a wild Augmented whole tone scale,
Every Night is Ladies Night, Maha Blues, Resolution, Hope,
Can't Stand Your Funk, You Know You Know, Poodle Factory & Jean Pierre. I think
that's it.
Lee was over the top (as usual) and Gary nailed the bass
with all getup! I did my best to play an E chord and maybe an A every now
and then. It was a blast! Oh an Gil informed me of some MAJOR NEWS! The Original Line up of Return To Forever with Lenny,
Stanley, Chick and Al, have reformed and will be touring
this summer! Thanks to all for coming out! See you in 2 weeks back at the
NAIL!
JANUARY
9, 2008 Without Until will perform at the Rusty Nail
downtown Wilmington from 9PM to 12PM. We will feature Gary Craddock on Bass! The Without Until
debut Album is moving to final completion. We had on of the more "over the top tunes" named "Mistor
Hiddy" mixed by Tommy Brothers of Audio Genesis fame!
Lee's double bass drumming on this tune is going to set
new standards for drummers across the globe! Stay tuned fro more information as we move to release! See
you Thursday Night At The Rusty Nail!
NOVEMBER
17, 2007 Last night Lee and I did a duo gig playing the Gala
opening of the Montage Art Showroom in Leland. It was first class all the way! They made the entire
outside surrounding area into a "tent city." Antonio's next
door catered the event with fine china, great crab dip, tons of meats,
deserts, stuffed mushrooms, wow! The local Wine rep, Steve Doumas with Wisdom Beverage, was
on hand along side his beautiful wife, and were pouring complimentary wines right next to out stage all
night! Turns out Steve is a great guitar player as well as a wine expert! He, and his bride,
took the time to write me and said of our performance:
My wife and I really were blown
away by how it sounded like a whole group of musicians were playing right next to
us. It was hard to believe all of that sound was coming from
just 2 guys!......
Once
again-you guys really are an inspiration. As soon as I
got
home the next day I was practicing on my Charvel
Jackson!
Thanks for the inspiration! You two were great and I
look forward
to purchasing your CD.
Thanks Steve, we hope to see you soon!
It is always an honor when someone tells you that your
music inspires them to pick up their instrument and play! To
any musician, there is no higher compliment! Needless to
say, by the end of the night, Lee and I were on the ceiling
again having a great time! We broke down about half past
9. Turns out the great band "SHINE" was playing next door
at Antonio's. So, after we got done, Lee and I went over
to Antonio's to decompress and listen to some great music. But, it
didn't take too long before I got egged on to the stage,
I played solo for a few, then was joined by both Lee and
the Bassist from the band. We proceed to play into the stratosphere! It was a great
time!
NOVEMBER
16, 2007 SQ here! Last night we played at the Rusty Nail.
While I was setting up I met a gentleman who was floored
that Jazz Fusion was available in Wilmington! Turns out he was a
drummer and sat intently and listened while Lee played on the ceiling! We opened the first night with
Resolution from Mahavishnu Orchestra. It was great to be
playing again with Kevin and Gary. We put Gary's bass thru one of
our Bose PAS systems to compliment his Bass rig and MAN!! What a difference it made! Big huge bass! A highlight
to the show was when we played Trilogy and had The Music
School of Wilmington's Jennifer Muehrcke playing oboe as she sat in
with us! Wow, another color to the band! We look forward to seeing you again on the 6th of December
as The Rusty Nail continues to bring Jazz Fusion to the Port
City!
OCTOBER 27, 2007 SQ here! Just a short note to mention last nights gig at
Antonio's! What a journey that was! Lee and I had as a special guest,
Cape Fear's amazing Jeff Simmons on Sax and oh what a trip!
This was the first time since the Katrina Relief concert a
few years back, that Lee and I played with Jeff, and even then, it was an impromptu thing. Last night was
another mile marker in an upward spiral with Jeff on Sax.
Last night we played: Moments, Blue Tango, Every Night is Ladies Night, Teen Town,
Jean Pierre, Over the Hills and Far away / Immigrant Song, 3rd Stone from
the Sun, Spain, The Quiet, Sonu Mama
Also I
wanted to extend a special thanks to Roger at Antonio's for
allowing us to play such music! Please if you are reading these blogs and haven't yet caught
us recently, you owe it to yourself to come on down and check out the energy and musicality of this band!
Every night is a special experience. With the rotation of so many talented musicians in town
sitting in at any given time, it is as if we are an ever changing group that pushes the
boundaries of the last line up!
We also had the good pleasure of recording last nights
performance. Look for an Up coming CD release shortly from that gig!
OCTOBER 19, 2007 JUST IN: Hi there, SQ here from SQV!
Just a short note to thank Sandy at the Rusty Nail for last
night's performance of our new group "Without Until" Yes it is official, we have renamed our band SQV, to
"Without Until" Same energy, same (and new) tunes, new name!
Last night we featured Gary Craddock on Bass, and Kevin Kolb
on Keys! It was magical! From the opening song of the night,
RESOLUTION, to the last tune TRILOGY, (Both from Mahavishnu
Orchestra) it was a wild ride of intense musicality! Lee was on fire!
Gary played some of the funkiest, tightest bass I have ever
witnessed, and Kevin was on the ceiling! To everyone who witnessed that
performance, we hope you enjoyed the ride!
With Roland's recent endorsement of both Lee and I, we have
incorporated two new toys into the group. Lee used his new Roland HandSonic 10 rhythm machine, while I
used my new Roland GR-20 Guitar synth! What a combination of
new voices!
Last night's version of Moments (from our up coming record)
was like a trip thru the Arabian desert on sheets of ice! Jeff Reid from The Beat Magazine was in the house, and
simply said "it was amazing!" Thanks Jeff!
Last
nights sets included:
Resolution, Blue Tango, Red Baron, Moments, Voices, Every
Night Is Ladies Night, Jean Pierre, Poodle Factory, Hope,
Trilogy.
For all
who have yet to check out the new Rusty nail, it has been
completely redone inside and features one of Wilmington's nicest
stages! It really is a wonderful venue to play in. We hope to be
playing there again very shortly. Plans are underway to do a live recording there soon, so
stay tuned for more information on that event!
Thanks again to all!
